Strategic Website Redesign & Messaging

They asked BFT to help them create a website that would better describe their role in supporting agents and serving clients. They were looking for a bit of a brand refresh—the PGI colors and logo stayed, but the overall look was refined with this new website design.

As the parent company to a platform of insurance agents, Patriot prides itself on being a partner to its agents—and helping all the clients it serves meet their protection goals. This promise needed to come through more quickly and completely in their story and user interface. The website needed to shift focus from being mainly a recruiting site to being a validation site for clients with a secondary focus on information for agents.

Starting with the right foundation is critical. After discovery sessions with key members of the team representing agents and clients, we set to work on building stylescape boards that outlined key elements that would be used throughout the user interface. We also focused on simplifying navigation to enhance the experience for both audiences.

Detailed wireframes for select pages were created to help the Patriot team visualize the page structure, layout, and content hierarchy of each section. These wireframes helped the project team focus on the fundamental structure without getting sidetracked by visual design elements. It’s an easy way to experience the user journey flow while seeing the hierarchy of content and how information is organized. Wireframes at this stage in the project allows for stakeholders to visualize where key elements will be placed.

The BFT process guarantees that the development team is included in strategic planning meetings from the very beginning of the project. This ensures that all questions about page development, total page count, any special functionality, forms, or maps are all accounted for in scope and the quoting process. For example, in this project, Patriot asked for an interactive map to prominently feature their partner agencies. Our BFTeam was able to execute this request flawlessly.

After the BFTeam designed the full website, the new design spearheaded a refresh across other PGI collateral. Our team collaborated to update PGI’s Brand Standards guide to reflect the new design elements and how they can be used across the brand.
